Groups & The Constitution

The people we associate with for various purposes and goals like our churches for spiritual reasons, businesses to exchange services or products with others, our cities and towns to have safe clean places to live and raise our families, our states where the people have much more say about what becomes a law and what doesn’t, and the myriad of other groups that are formed by our associations including our country are secured and protected under our Constitution. A centralized government, without enumerated powers that restricts the actions of it’s people, will always want  groups to conform to their ideas for that is one way government accomplishes “Control Over We The People“.  Alas, this idea only leads to dullness, low or no production of any kind, and a reduction in the drive that keeps a society expanding and prospering. These guys either don’t know or don’t care that it is the Individual that is the driving force behind our nation’s great success and survival not conformity.

Governments are made up of people just like our churches, communities and cities are. These people are subject to the same variables and limitations that we are and are many times afraid of us(We the People). Giving them unlimited power by not “Enforcing The Constitution” is not a bright idea. The purpose of our Constitution is to restrict and restrain the government leaving us the liberty & freedom that each of us inherently possess thanks to our Creator. The Founders knew this and although we have lost so much of our liberty in the last 100 years and even more so in the last 10, this founding document has saved us from losing all of our liberty. Without the Constitution liberty would have already vanished from our society!

Ask around and find out how many people that you come in contact with know and understand our Constitution and Bill of Rights. Unfortunately it’s very few from my experience and some that do profess to know these documents are more interested in criticizing the authors than understanding the underlying principles that are at their foundation. The situation is grim thanks to the erosion of education mostly under the control of the department of education. (which is eerily like the tenth plank of the communist manifesto) Our own government has managed through regulation after regulation the destruction of the family unit via welfare, education through policies like “No child left behind”, and morals by deeming that the Constitution says there is a seperation of Church and state which of course it does not.

When we read and understand the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution and the Bill of Rights we know what our government can and especially what it can’t do. This idea of the average guy(peasant) knowing this irks the authoritarian(king, lord or noble/in our case politician or university professor). Control over a person becomes virtually impossible once one possess the knowledge about how something works, even government. Armed with this knowledge about how our government must run according to our Constitution(the supreme law of the land) the Individual regains freedom and liberty. The authoritarian fears this above all else for it sheds the light of truth on their real purpose and leaves them powerless to boot!

1820 September 28. (to William C. Jarvis) “I know no safe depository of the ultimate powers of the society, but the people themselves: and if we think them not enlightened enough to exercise their controul with a wholsome discretion, the remedy is, not to take it from them, but to inform their discretion by education. this is the true corrective of abuses of constitutional power.”                       Thomas Jefferson

This battle of ideas is ours to win by giving everyone the opportunity to understand our founding documents. Who can argue with liberty for all?

The Family & The Constitution

When we talk about the building block of America we are talking about the family. Without it there would be no America, no government, no businesses, no communities, towns, cities, or states. There would be no structure for children to grow up in, no safety, no education(which starts and continues from parents until the child can fend for itself). Our country and communities need a strong family unit. One that can stand on its own to grow and prosper. Each family unique in its own way with different paths to the same end. An independent, intelligent, productive and caring individual.

Only loving and caring parents can do this. Mothers and Fathers teach their children the basics of language and how to get along with others amongst a myriad of other things.  Government cannot do this. This is evidenced by the wild gangs of teenagers that roam the streets of Chicago and sometimes Philadelphia. These children are products of a constantly expanding welfare state created by politicians who do not have the best interests of families at heart. Oh, these politicians say they are helping but their actions(laws and regulations) only serve to degrade and destroy the very thing they propose to protect, our families. There is only one way politicians can make these laws harming our families and that is to do the same thing to our Consitution.

The Constitution if  applied  to its stated end of a limited federal government, with enumerated powers, will allow all families to grow and prosper by not interfering with their natural developement. That is, a man and a woman find each other, fall for each other, and decide to marry and have children. In the course of living and creating a family these two individuals will rise to the occasion many times throughout their lives and make their own choices on how and in what way they will raise their children. The result, most of the time, are  happy adults who usually have a good purpose and will have a good effect on neighbors and their communities. Government interfering in the natural course of families will degrade all of them to a certain extent and will destroy many. Most of the degradation of our inner cities are a product of these broken families.

I know the Founders were aware of this and knew in their hearts that men were mostly good and that government, if run by those who think they know best, will find a way to eliminate those who disagree with them. Governments of our planet have managed to murder close to 250 million people but you will find very little reminder of this in the media when they agree with the government that is in power. Our Constitution and Bill of Rights does rectify this by giving the federal government limited enumerated powers leaving the rest to the States and the People. Unforunately today you would have no idea that the federal government is limited even a little.

Our country, our Constitution, our Bill of Rights, and our families are being degraded and destroyed from the inside out by our own uninformed votes. We must correct this downward course. We can do this by knowing and understanding our founding documents and how they relate to each of us and our families. We have to agree with our politicians for this downward course to continue so let’s disagree and let our politicians know we disagree. It is our country you know!

Strong, independent, and prosperous families will be the rule of the day when we eliminate government interference in them by knowing and understanding the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution, and the Bill of Rights and forcing our wayward politicians to do the same!

The War On Our Constitution And The Path To Victory

There are continuous attacks on our Constitution by Mr. Obama and many of our politicians through the Enviromental Protection Agency, Health & Human Services, the Education department, and the Transportation Security Agency. There are so many of these agencies that I don’t think the politicians themselves know them all. Also there is unconstitutional legislation like the healthcare law. Don’t take my word for it. Look at the enumerated powers listed in our Constitution and then compare that to what each of these agencies are currently doing to withhold our natural resources, force us to compromise our religious belief’s and our right to privacy, indoctrinate our students into socialist and marxists ideology through radical teaching, and take away our right to due process at all airports where we are treated as criminals until we prove our innocence.

But these attacks are most onerous within the healthcare law. This one law all by itself could totally change life in our country from freedom to slavery.  You think that can never happen in America. I thought so too until the healthcare bill was passed into law through bribery and coercion and against the consent of the people.

All of this may appear very complicated but if we look at it through the lens of our Constitution it  sorts itself out pretty quickly. Look at our Constitution and you will find that none of these agencies mentioned above and the actions they take appear in the enumerated powers of the executive branch as listed under Article II. There are many more such violations of the enumerated powers our Constitution grants each branch of government. Too many to go into here.

This war on our Constitution has been ramped up tremendously in the last several years but it’s been going on since before the great depression. Whenever legislation has passed that gives any branch of government a power that is not an enumerated power granted by our Constitution a battle has been lost along with a little of our individual rights. A presidential veto would be the right thing to do for any such legislation along with the page showing this is not an enumerated power. Alas, very few of our leaders have had the courage nor the fortitude to do this. An example of this is social security. There is no enumerated power for this in Article I, section 8 of our Constitution.

Each piece of legislation that is not held up to our Constitution to see if it is within the boundaries of the government’s enumerated powers actually changes the relationship between the government and the individual and this change is never good for the individual. Is it ever good to let someone else decide for you? Of course not. That would be like saying being robbed is good for a person. In actual fact when we are robbed of some of our liberty we also lose some of ourselves as well.

There is only one correct way to change our Constitution and it is not through legislation or executive order. It is through Article 5 of our Constitution. Read through it and you will find that this procedure if followed will give, ”We the People”, the most say in the proposed change. A change like that put forth by the healthcare bill would have never seen the light of day if our politicians upheld their oath of office and followed our Constitution.

So, what can we do about this seemingly disastorous predicament we find ourselves in? We can study our founding documents with friends and family. There are resources and suggested sites on this blog to help you.  Start or join groups who want to put our Constitution back in use. Contact your representatives, senators and the president insisting on the same. Last but not least keep dreaming of the day when the Declaration of Independence, the Constituion, and the Bill of Rights are known so well by all of us that no politician or bureaucrat will dare violate them!

Victory is right around the corner!

The Constitution Is A Must Know For All Americans

It’s times like these, where government is getting bigger and bigger and liberty is getting smaller and smaller, that the Constitution becomes the only way out for all of us even those who despise and detest it. Only those without honor and integrity would pervert the very document that secures their unalienable rights, along with the rest of us, into a document that eradicates them one by one. These men and women will not always be in power and therefore will also be subject to an uncontrolled state. These policies will subject all future generations to these same mechanisms where the individual is nothing and the state is all.  Not much foresight in that is there unless your goal is to suppress individuality.

The idea that we the people cannot be experts on the Constitution is totally, absolutely, one hundred per-cent FALSE! It was written for us so that we can keep our government and especially our politicians in line. The Constitution is the supreme law of the land and politicians like Mr. Obama are not “Above the Law”. The prime purpose of the Constitution is the securing of our unalienable rights to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness as stated in the Decalaration of Independence for each and every American no matter their race, no matter their creed, no matter their status in life. Anyone who would try to take away any of these rights from any American is unqualified to hold any position in our government whether politician or bureaucrat and should be immediately dismissed or impeached. No exceptions allowed.

Unfortunately Mr. Obama, most of the Democrat party, at least half of the Republican party and all of the mainstream media are working hard to split Americans into groups and then pit these groups one against the other. Young vs. old, rich vs. poor, black vs. white and on and on. You name the groups and they will pit them against each other. Instead of inspiring us to greater success, honor and integrity these men and women find the lowest common denominator in our fellow Americans and push that on every one of us.

What kind of men and women do this? Those who say they are for all Americans but in reality the laws they want to pass and the policies they want to put in place will serve only to make us lazy, keep us down and confiscate our property. It is not charity to take property, that someone or some group has earned,  and give it to another with no exchange taking place. That is legal theft and a horrible example to set for young and old alike. But then why would you care about young people learning about something as important as exchange when your primary goal is to strip free will from every American except for those who agree with you. Charity is giving something you have earned of your own free will. It is not a required contribution as the unconsitutional healthcare law states. Isn’t a contribution given freely?

Pick up the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution and the Bill of Rights. Study them so you get an understanding of them. These are the documents that will secure every Americans life, liberty and property!

Creating New Jobs and The Constitution

Each and every American needs to understand the underlying principles behind the Constitution. Not only for their own liberty or right to choose but also for the liberty of their children, grandchildren, friends, relatives, associates and all Americans. It is probably the single most important part of life, this being able to choose for ourselves, and it hasn’t been around for very long. I personally would like to keep it and ensure everyone else gets to keep it too.

Some might think that the Constitution is boring, hard to understand or someone else will understand it for them. Just look at where that attitude has gotten us. Besides the continuation of spending trillions of dollars that we don’t have (For the past 3 years we have borrowed over a trillion dollars each year,) we are still confronted with a government that is bit by bit taking away our individual rights to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness that are guaranteed by our Constitution and given to us by our Creator. (Obamacare forces an individual to not only buy insurance but a specific kind of insurance that may go against the person’s belief’s. Banks are told how much they can charge to initiate a loan and can be taken over by the government without any oversight. How long before we are told how much we can make?) According to many of our politicians we don’t have the wherewithal to make our own choices only they can do the choosing. Just look around your community, town, city or state and you will see how badly that has worked out for us.

This all leads us to why there aren’t as many jobs as people need and want. The amount of new businesses started will decline in direct ratio to the amount of new government regulations and new taxes and/or in the abscence of a stable (as small as possible) regulatory enviroment and low taxes. Government regulations and taxes are oppressive to a person or business (businesses are groups of people). The trick is to have as few or as little as possible and for sure, don’t keep changing the rules. Regulations and taxes are a form of force and whenever you try to force someone they will push back or get scared. Aren’t people and businesses afraid to spend too much right now?

These two things, low taxes and much less regulation, will actually bring in much more revenue to the government. (Check out the Kennedy & Reagan years. Both lowered taxes & more money flowed in. The more people making money the more taxes are collected. We want people earning lots of money not the other way around.) We will be able to pay off our debt and pay for needed services and safety nets. The key question is do our politicians want more cash in the bank or do some of them actually want the poor to stay poor.

How does the Constitution fit into all of this? The Constitution will give us limited government which will result in less regulation and less taxation. This gives all of us more choices and opportunity. More liberty & freedom will ensure we can pay our bills. The Constitution if understood and applied will allow any individual to start their own business and be as creative as their abilities allow. The people of our country can and will get us out of this economic catastrophe that the politicians have gotten us into. Anyway, most politicians haven’t the slightest clue about how to create jobs.

Thomas Jefferson, James Madison and all of the founding fathers knew that this thing called liberty was and is the key to a free and prosperous nation. Don’t take my word for it. Read their writings, the Constituion and the Declaration of Independence. Just think of the amount of small businesses that would have been created in the last several years if the government would have been getting smaller instead of growing monstrously huge.

Spread the word about our founding documents and how using them will lead to more jobs and more choices.

Keeping The Constitution Working

What does it mean to keep the Constitution working? As stated in the Declaration of Independence, governments are instituted among men, to secure for all Americans certain unalienable rights, among these are life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. This IS the government’s main job! It is in the second paragraph of the Declaration. The government gets its power to govern from our consent. If it does not secure these unalienable rights for all of us, then we must do something about it. It is our duty as Americans. The rights of all future generations are depending on it! [Read more...]

First, every American must be thoroughly familiar with the Constitution and the Declaration of Independence. If we are not, then we won’t know whether  our politicians are doing their jobs or not. (Children should be included in this, as well, since they are the future.) [Read more...]

Second, we must demand that our politicians also read and apply the Constitution and the Declaration of Independence. Start up or join groups which study and discuss these documents and then, as a group, demand politicians do the same. Applying enough pressure will push our elected officials into actually doing their jobs. [Read more...]

Third, do not accept excuses or reasons why these documents can’t be read, understood and applied. It is a totally false idea that only a judge or a constitutional professor can know and understand what is in these docments. Each one of us can be a constituional expert and should be. [Read more...]

Fourth, in order to ensure the government does not overstep its limits, we must participate in choosing our elected officials and maybe even become one of them ourselves. Actually take part in the process, and don’t ”let it go on automatic”. This is the key to a free and prosperous nation.

Fifth, never take the freedom and liberty we have for granted. A lot was given and lost so that we as individuals could choose for ourselves without the threat of loss of life, property or freedom and more importantly keep a sharp eye on those who are chosen to govern. [Read more...]

Sixth, don’t forget to let all of the elected officials who represent you know when they are doing a good job securing these unalienable rights for you and your loved ones. You will get more of the same.

Seventh, never stop letting government officials know that these unalienable rights come from our Creator and not from them. When holding office for too long a period of time some confusion in this area can occur!

Eighth, use the Constitution as your guide to decide whether a proposed law secures everyone’s rights (Limited government) or not (Big government), whether a judge will be impartial or biased, or whether someone is worthy of being elected or should be passed over. What does this person think of the Constitution, and if they’ve applied it how have they applied it. [Read more...]

Ninth, it is up to you and I and every American to enforce the Constitution. If the elected officials who represent us are not securing our rights but instead are taking them away through slick legislation and legalese then it’s time to step up and force them to abide by the Constituion through recall votes when possible, mountains of letters, calls, e-mails and personal visits. These things can be done and won. [Read more...]

Tenth, never lose sight of what the  Founding Fathers wanted to accomplish. A country where every man, woman and child has the right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. Where no one group trumps the rights of another or the individual and where everyone can strive for exellence. [Read more...]

Finally this is a guide and not meant to usurp your own ideas on securing these rights for everyone. Apply these points vigorously and not only will we get limited government but we will secure these rights for all future generations!

Liberty & Enforcing The Constitution

I don’t know about you but I believe that I am perfectly capable of taking care of myself, my family(and extended family) and our business, of helping our church, helping our community, and in so doing by extension helping our state and our country. I’m fairly certain that most of you feel this way too.

The idea that a politician via the government has the job of taking care of all Americans and all their problems besides being impossible is also utterly absurd since the government cannot even run the post office without being “way in the red”.

In going over the Constitution one will find that there is, “not a darn thing in there”, that gives the government that power. If someone thinks there is then we must first get their agreement to check out what the Constitution actually says and secondly we must make sure there are no misunderstanding of words and if so get the dictionary out to get the actual meaning. There is more than one definition for many words and confusion can result if we have an incorrect one. Many of you know this already but some do not.

The definitons for enforce are as follows; 1 obedience by threat and 2 to execute effectively. This is according to Merriam-Webster’s collegiate dictionary. Now, I’d prefer to use only definition 2 but since we have strayed so far from the Constitution I believe we have to use definition 1 as well. Helping individuals(even politicians) understand the Constitution is the goal. The Constitution is our reality, our agreement as far as our government is concerned. Without it there is no agreement. As Americans we know what the government can do and more importantly what it can’t do. All a person need do is look around at what our government is doing right this moment by passing laws that are: 1. Against the will of the people.  2. Nationalizing whole industries (the healthacare bill, banking bill, auto bailout). 3. So large, twisted and convoluted that the politicians themselves don’t know what’s in them. 4. Changing our Constitution bypassing Article V (which tells us how to change it giving the individual the utmost protection). These are serious matters and our individual rights as stated in the Declaration of Independence are going to vanish if this continues much longer. Some may say this could never happen. If you think this then I ask you to take another good look at it before you dismiss these assertions.

We must be totally unreasonable about this. That is why we must let politicians know they will be voted out of office if they refuse, by their actions not their words, to comply with reading and applying the Constitution. Being reasonable (accepting excuses, reasons etc.) has gotten us into the mess we are in at this moment in history (The Great Society etc.).

So, let’s get back to our fundamentals and drag our politicians along with us. On second thought we should fire any politician that voted for the stimulus bill, the healthcare bill, the banking bill or the cap & trade bill (energy bill).

Enforce the Constitution and we will keep our Liberty.

Tom

Freedom, Liberty And The Third Branch Of Government

After listening to some of what went on in the house of representatives late last month, I believe we witnessed a coup. Our government has been hijacked by our politicans, who are not representing us but rather themselves and special interests; lawyers, unions, drug companies, the American Psychiatric Association, American Medical Association and Acorn etc. These organizations are special interests and want money and special protections from our government.

All of our politicians take an oath when they take office to uphold the constitution. The Founders expected those who held office to treat their oath as a duty. Passing the healthcare bill into law proves that most of these folks don’t care about the constitution at all except to twist it to further their own power. We must take our government back. Here’s a great quote from one of our Founders, the father of our constitution.

It will be of little avail to the people that the laws are made by men of their own choice, if the laws be so voluminous that they cannot be read, or so incoherent that they cannot be understood; if they be repealed or revised before they are promulgated, or undergo such incessant changes that no man who knows what the law is today can guess what it will be tomorrow.”
– James Madison, Federalist no. 62, February 27, 1788  This quote describes the healthcare bill perfectly.

The congress of the United States and the president have declared war on the American people. They are acting as if we the people have no power and that they are the power. It is now time to litigate this  unconstitutional bill and believe me it is unconstituional to coerce an individual American to buy a service or a product. If this law stands what else could the federal government force us to buy? It is our right, according to the Declaration of Independence, to make sure that this overstepping of power does not stand.

There are going to be many lawsuits from states and individuals contesting the constitutionality of this law. The American Center for Law & Justice is initiating its own suits as well as joining and supporting the states.  I am going to support and join with as many as I can. I suggest that you do so as well.

Remember we lost battle after battle for just about the first year of the Revolutionary War. In the end we won. We will win this war too.

Global Warming Hoax Exposed – Secures Our Freedom & Liberty

I’ve never believed in global warming. I’ve always thought that it was a way to get an American to give up his freedom’s in favor of government control. As if the government knows much about anything except how to take from the producers and give to those who can’t produce or won’t produce. Helping those that can’t produce is an idea I’ve always been in favor of by the way. I think we can all look at the statistics of any government program and see that they are going broke, for instance social security, medicare, the post office, and so on.

The e-mails that have been brought to light from the University of East Anglia Climate Research Unit prove that global warming is a political agenda and is being used to gain control of  the individual, whole populations and undermining our country’s sovereignty. The falsifying of data should be a high crime in the scientific community and should carry with it the consequence of expulsion from the group. The e-mails in the global warming article prove that these so-called scientists were falsifying data.

Our constitution guarantees our individual rights. The senate healthcare bill and the global warming agenda are ways for  politicians, who now consider themselves the elites, to control us in our everyday lives. An oligarchy is a government controlled by a few for self interest. Well I would submit to you that our government is on the verge of becoming such a thing. The senate, the house and the executive branch are riddled with self and vested interests. These polititcians are interested in their own power not in making sure our individual right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness are secure for us and our children.

I have personally visited my Democratic senator’s office and spoken with a representative and voiced all of my objections to the healthcare bill, the energy bill, the stimulus package and that I would not participate in the healthcare bill if it was passed. I highly recommend that all of you do the same and get everyone on your e-mail lists, friends, neighbors, co-workers and anyone else you can to visit their senators who are in support of this bill and let them know in no uncertain terms what you think. I am not suggesting that all of you not participate in this bill if it’s passed. I cannot since it goes against everything that I believe in.

You can make a difference. Find an online petition to sign and sign it. You can and do influence everyone that you come in contact with.

We need only one Democratic senator to vote against this monstrosity of a bill but let’s get many more. Click on the link above and just start reading the bill and you will see what I mean. Our future and the future of our children and our grandchildren are depending on us.

Thanks

The U.S. Government vs. Freedom & Liberty?

Should I say it or not. Does it appear that our government, instituted among men, is about to strip each individual in this country of their freedom & liberty by taking over (regulating) all aspects of healthcare? By looking to see what the senate is doing this very day my answer would be yes.

Just a short explanation of what is going on concerning healthcare in the senate and what your senator may be asked to vote on soon. There are two healthcare bills in the senate. These will be put together by the senate majority leader. This very large bill will then be added to a TARP bill, that has already passed in the House of Representatives, as an amendment. This TARP bill would be subject to a fillibuster only at the time of being introduced. After that it will require only 51 votes to pass. This is a very covert way of stripping every American of their right to choose what healthcare, if any, they want.

The Declaration of Independence states that the government is to secure the individuals rights not take them away or diminish them in any way. How in the world did the purpose of the government get twisted into actually taking away freedoms & liberties? If anyone has the answer to that one I’d be glad to hear from you on the comment page.

The only recourse we have to retain our rights as individuals is to apply enormous amounts of pressure to your senator and keep on applying pressure until they decide to follow the law of the land; The constitution. If we want all that we have had for our children and our grandchildren we must act and act now. To check out more on what the healthcare bill has in it and if you agree that it shouldn’t see the light of day you can sign a petition to that effect at the American Center For Law & Justice.

Thanks for you help.
