The U.S. Government vs. Freedom & Liberty?

Should I say it or not. Does it appear that our government, instituted among men, is about to strip each individual in this country of their freedom & liberty by taking over (regulating) all aspects of healthcare? By looking to see what the senate is doing this very day my answer would be yes.

Just a short explanation of what is going on concerning healthcare in the senate and what your senator may be asked to vote on soon. There are two healthcare bills in the senate. These will be put together by the senate majority leader. This very large bill will then be added to a TARP bill, that has already passed in the House of Representatives, as an amendment. This TARP bill would be subject to a fillibuster only at the time of being introduced. After that it will require only 51 votes to pass. This is a very covert way of stripping every American of their right to choose what healthcare, if any, they want.

The Declaration of Independence states that the government is to secure the individuals rights not take them away or diminish them in any way. How in the world did the purpose of the government get twisted into actually taking away freedoms & liberties? If anyone has the answer to that one I’d be glad to hear from you on the comment page.

The only recourse we have to retain our rights as individuals is to apply enormous amounts of pressure to your senator and keep on applying pressure until they decide to follow the law of the land; The constitution. If we want all that we have had for our children and our grandchildren we must act and act now. To check out more on what the healthcare bill has in it and if you agree that it shouldn’t see the light of day you can sign a petition to that effect at the American Center For Law & Justice.

Thanks for you help.

One Million Stand Up For Liberty & Freedom

Although there is no formal count I believe there were at least one million  Americans in Washington DC on the 12th of September. Thanks to all of them for showing the politicians that we are serious about our right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.

The healthcare bill is an opportunity for the federal government to take control of how we care for our bodies and much more. The government deciding for every family and individual in this country what kind of care is the right one and making you pay for it whether you want that care or not is not freedom.

The American Center For Law & Justice has discovered more in the healthcare bill. Planned Parenthood will have a presence in most schools.  The health and human services secretary will be in charge of these clinics not the school boards. So, again the feds are taking more power that doesn’t belong to them under The constitution.

The American Center For Law & Justice has a petition to scrap the whole healthcare bill. Take a look at it and the information about the bill and sign the petition if you agree with it. These petitions do make a huge difference.

The constitution exists for us to read, use and apply. Take a look at it. Especially ammendments 9 & 10. Also Article 1, section 8 the powers of congress. Decide for yourself and make a comment to your congressman. Do the same for your senator. Demand that they apply the constitution to all of their legislation.

Is The Healthcare Bill Constitutional?

That is a great question. I have a video you should watch from the Glen Beck program on Fox news. It is very enlightening. Here’s the link; http://www.aclj.org/OnTheTv/?aP=C36C9996-9E58-44CF-A539-E6694BEFF3E5&mmType=4 Jay Sekulow from the American Center For Law & Justice, Judge Andrew Napolitano and Tim Lynch from the Cato Institute hit the nail on the head. According to Article 1, Section 8 of the United States Constitution, the powers of congress are limited. Get this section out for yourself and read it. Any words you don’t know look up in a dictionary. Congress does not have unlimited powers.

The Founding Fathers expected that the members of congress would take their oath seriously, to uphold the constitution and not pass unconstitutional legislation. If they did pass a bill that was unconstutuional then the president would, taking his oath seriously, veto the bill. If the president signed the bill the courts would then knock it down because it was unconstitional. These are the checks and balances that were created for us.

Today though our entire government is filled with politicians who have contempt for our constutution. With such contempt, by even our president, anything goes and the slick politicians and marketing executives know best. When our checks and balances fail it is up to us, the people, to rise up and apply mountains of pressure to our politicians. Don’t stop. Don’t give up. Keep talking to your representatives and senators. Be forceful and passionate but be polite. Talk to your friends and get them educated on the issues and the constitution. Our kids and grandkids are depending on you. Be an activist for our constitution.

Protesters Protecting Our Freedom

Thank you. All of you mob-like men, women and children of all ages. It is you that have kept us from falling off a cliff. But there is much more work to do. President Obama and his supporters will stop at nothing to take our liberty and freedom from all of us including those he pretends  to help.

Honestly, those who act like  there is nothing wrong and that the government knows best are fooling themselves. Or, how about those who tell you that there is such a thing as free healthcare and point to the UK as an example. And when you explain to them that nothing is free. Somebody has to pay for it. They shake their head and walk away mumbling to themselves.

You protesters out there are not only standing up against a well oiled machine for your own freedom and liberty, but also for those who think you are a fool and a fanatic.

So, keep going to townhall meetings and speaking your mind as passionately as you feel like. Keep writing letters to your congressmen and women, senators, and the president himself. Keep sending e-mails until their servers crash. Keep calling until their phone lines go down. Be polite but be forceful and never let them tell you that they know best and you should just listen.

Only you know what is the best thing for you to do for yourself, your family, your church, your community and your country. That is what freedom is all about. Deciding for oneself what is the right thing to do. Don’t let some slick politician come along and persuade you that some government beaurocrat can decide for you better than you can.

To keep those letters and phone calls coming here’s a link to find your congressman: http://www.congress.org/congressorg/directory/congdir.tt

Healthcare and Freedom

Freedom [in the dictionary] means not being under another’s control; power to do, say or think as one pleases; liberty.

Does having an insurance policy for healthcare give me or you freedom and liberty?  I would state ablolutely no. Actually having insurance just ties one to an insurance payment and filling out forms and being beholden to the insurance company or government beaurocrat for what they will pay for you and your family. Now I’m not saying that you shouldn’t have an insurance policy for your healthcare. Have whatever kind of policy you want or don’t want since you do still have your freedom and liberty. Will you have the freedom to have the policy of your choosing with President Obama’s government healthcare bill? No you will not. Read the fine print, if the house or senate gives you enough time to plod throught the 1000 or more pages, and you will find that the government is the decision maker on what kind of policy you have for yourself and your loved ones.  A politician deciding what healthcare policy or care you get is definitely not freedom and liberty.

What kind of a politician would want to take away the liberty and freedom of the people he has the privilege of serving for his term? Make no mistake about it this healthcare bill or rather debacle will take away your freedom to choose in favor of the government deciding for you. And, any politician who wants to control you does not support the constitution or believe in the Declaration of Independence. Take a look at these documents yourself and you will see what  I mean. Til’ next time.
