After listening to some of what went on in the house of representatives late last month, I believe we witnessed a coup. Our government has been hijacked by our politicans, who are not representing us but rather themselves and special interests; lawyers, unions, drug companies, the American Psychiatric Association, American Medical Association and Acorn etc. These organizations are special interests and want money and special protections from our government.
All of our politicians take an oath when they take office to uphold the constitution. The Founders expected those who held office to treat their oath as a duty. Passing the healthcare bill into law proves that most of these folks don’t care about the constitution at all except to twist it to further their own power. We must take our government back. Here’s a great quote from one of our Founders, the father of our constitution.
It will be of little avail to the people that the laws are made by men of their own choice, if the laws be so voluminous that they cannot be read, or so incoherent that they cannot be understood; if they be repealed or revised before they are promulgated, or undergo such incessant changes that no man who knows what the law is today can guess what it will be tomorrow.”
– James Madison, Federalist no. 62, February 27, 1788 This quote describes the healthcare bill perfectly.
The congress of the United States and the president have declared war on the American people. They are acting as if we the people have no power and that they are the power. It is now time to litigate this unconstitutional bill and believe me it is unconstituional to coerce an individual American to buy a service or a product. If this law stands what else could the federal government force us to buy? It is our right, according to the Declaration of Independence, to make sure that this overstepping of power does not stand.
There are going to be many lawsuits from states and individuals contesting the constitutionality of this law. The American Center for Law & Justice is initiating its own suits as well as joining and supporting the states. I am going to support and join with as many as I can. I suggest that you do so as well.
Remember we lost battle after battle for just about the first year of the Revolutionary War. In the end we won. We will win this war too.
