Repeal Of The Healthcare Law & The Individual

The total repeal of the healthcare law is essential to the freedom & liberty of every American. Article 1, section 8 of our Constitution gives no authority to congress to order each of us to buy health insurance, which a government beaurocrat decides we must have, under penalty of fines or imprisonment. Article 2 of the Constitution also does not give the president this power over the individual. This is not a dictatorship or an oligarchy. We are free men and women and we will not stand for such an intrusion on our free will and our liberty!

We must now make absolutely clear to the new congress that they must repeal this law. I am continuing to contact my senator and representative so the new majority in congress know they must honor their pledge and that we, the American people, mean business. I suggest that you do the same.  Those in power that believe the state is all and the individual is nothing will not rest so neither can we.

The healthcare law will slowly but surely take our freedom to choose what we know is best for ouselves, our families, and our communities from us and give these choices to a bureaucrat. I plan to make sure our children and grandchildren grow up to be free men and women! I believe you will too.

The President Demands Reconciliation For 2700 Page Health Bill

I don’t know about you but I’m beside myself with the president continually ignoring the American people and that’s putting it mildly. The  arrogance is astounding. We do not want this liberty stealing, freedom crushing government takeover of our healthcare. A majority of us want this bill scrapped in favor of a clean slate. Sixty three per cent of us, a clear majority, favor much smaller bills targeting individual problems. We are communicating but the president is not listening. Here’s the president on the campaign trail explaining how you would get a healthcare bill passed in the senate and it’s not with fifty-one votes.

It is obvious to me that the president will not pay attention to what we are saying and thinks he can win a fight with us, the American people. Today he demands an up or down vote on the healthcare bill and claims that the republicans have used reconciliation similarly, implying that it’s okay to break the fillibuster rule for a two thousand seven hundred page bill that an average person needs a lawyer to interpret. Belive me I’ve gotten through about two hundred pages of the senate bill and it’s obviously written so that Americans cannot even with great effort understand what’s in it. Would you sign a contract for anything not knowing what you were agreeing to?

As far as the Welfare Act of 1996, well that passed the senate with seventy-four votes and the house with two hundred thirty two votes. The president needs to check his facts before accusing others of what he is about to advocate. Regardless this is false information and he should be called out on it. The 2001 tax cuts passed the senate with sixty-two votes and the house with two hundred thirty votes. That is not less than sixty votes which it would have to be in order for it to be reconciliation or an up or down vote. This again is false and misleading information. Check the vote counts out for yourself and you decide.

So, what do we do about it? Well one thing is for sure, we can’t just sit around and complain! How about calling, writing, e-mailing or actually going down to your reprsentative’s and senator’s office to demand they don’t co-operate with the reconciliation process. Give them common sense alternatives to present to their leadership and the president.  Another thing we can do is look for petitions to sign. At the American Center for Law & Justice there is a petition to stop reconciliation which will derail the bill if enough people sign it.  Also communicate to your friends, relatives and associates about what is in the bill that would’nt be good for them. Above all know your protection against a tyrannical government; The constitution.

Up to this point we the people have not allowed this bill to be passed. We can still be victorious. We stand for freedom & liberty for all Americans. Even for those who want to take those rights away from us. If that’s not love of our countrymen I don’t know what is. Remember, the healthcare bill is just part of an agenda that will leave us with very little freedom and almost no liberty at all. Where government decides how much you can earn, what you can eat, how you should take care of your kids, what they are taught in school and who instructs them, what kind of procedures you are allowed to have if you get sick and maybe, eventually, what you can say. Look for yourself and check out the cap and trade bill, the education plan and of course the healthcare bill. (This bill is no longer on line. I wonder why?) Be the one who knows the answers and help convince others to act.

We can take this to a conclusion that secures  every American’s right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. That is my goal. I’m sure it is yours too.

Unconstitutional-Presidential Powers Now Include Legislating?

The presidents is now writing a healthcare bill that essentially will bypass the senate fillibuster rule. As you know in order for a bill to get to a final vote it must be able to overcome a fillibuster by the opposition, in this case from the Republicans. The president’s bill can be piggybacked onto a budget bill that requires only fifty-one votes in the senate to pass. Essentially the president is trying to bypass the American people who overwhelmingly do not want this healtcare bill. Sixty-one percent of voters say congress should scrap the  healthcare plans and start over. Besides being an underhanded method for passing a bill this rule was developed for budget bills only. It has never been used for policy changes and shouldn’t be.

The president is coming very close to violating the constitution if he hasn’t already. Article 1 and article 2 are very clear on which branch of government does what and the Executive branch clearly doesn’t write legislation. As a matter of fact there is nothing in article 2 that even comes slightly near what the  president is trying to do. Either there is a complete misunderstanding of the constitution by the administration or they are purposely trying to subvert the constitution. Maybe these politicians think that they know the constituiton but really have many words in it that they have a wrong definition for or no definition at all or maybe they really don’t know the first thing about the constitution. Should there be a test on the constitution before taking office?

We the people decide the course of our country not the administration or the special interests. Right now it is the labor unions, who have met with the president or his representatives, planned parenthood, psychiatry, lawyers, acorn  and drug companies. Most of these groups have donated massively to the president’s campaign in 08. Sign the petition at the American Center for Law and Justice to scrap the healthcare bill and start over. We need to force the administration and congress to follow the constitution. Petitions work especially now after the election in Massachusetts. Don’t stand by while our freedom’s are taken from us.(Another example of this is the president’s education plan.)  It only takes a few Democrats to vote no to stop this bill dead in its tracks.

Control of over 300 million people hangs in the balance and they know it. We have to push back just as hard as they are to hang the whole process up. And to win we must push back harder. Another look at the ad that got us a senate seat in Massachusetts could help to inspire us all. A reminder it’s never too late to change direction. Remember November is right around the corner and the anti-constitutionalists are on the run.

Let’s keep it that way!
